A few days ago, the artificial intelligence (AI) technology 'Copilot Pro' was opened by Microsoft Corporation. But in the meantime, there have been reports of hacker attacks on it. A group of Russian hackers attacked Microsoft.
The attack took place in November last year. Microsoft learned about the attack on January 12. In this attack, some important documents, including e-mails of some Microsoft officials, have gone into the hands of hackers, Microsoft said.
A group of Russian hackers named 'Nobelium' carried out the attack. It is believed that this hacker group is run by the Russian government and they have attacked some US institutions before. Incidentally, the 'Solarwind attack' of 2020 was the manipulation of these hackers. Important documents of several US government and private organizations were hacked.
At Microsoft, these hackers carried out a 'password spray' attack, through which a selection of common passwords was used to try to access the e-mails of multiple people. Through this attack, the hackers obtained some documents of Microsoft's old software, including the e-mail accounts of several departments, including Microsoft's senior leadership department and the cybersecurity department. However, the exact amount of information reached by the hackers is not yet known for sure.
According to Microsoft, this attack did not affect Microsoft Windows or any software. Microsoft officials were victims of this attack. Common users have no reason to worry. So for now Windows and Copilot users can rest assured.
